Many great pyrenees are dominant or aggressive toward dogs they don't know. some great pyrenees are not safe with cats. i know personally of two; separate tragic incidents where a great pyrenees reached through the fence and killed a small dog who was simply walking past the pyr's yard. heavy shedding. great pyrenees shed a lot.. I totally feel your frustration with the hair loss but i don't think it's a medical issue. i have a 6 yr old male pyr that lives inside my home. pyrs supposedly go thru a shedding twice a year but my brutus seems to shed all the time. i vacuum every other day.. Lilly with her cigar (rawhide chew) after shedding pounds of hair. the unique tail and coloring is the only clue that this pup is a great pyrenees. without all that long, flowing hair she looks like some other dog..
